Voidokilia Beach

Voidokoilia is a beach in Messinia that is considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. It is famous mainly for its all-round shape reminiscent of the letter O. It is located north of Pylos, on the coast of the Ionian, and is adjacent to the lagoon of Gialova from which it is separated by a strip of sand dunes. The beach and the wider area has been designated a place of special natural beauty and is part of the Natura 2000 Network. At the southern end of Voidokoilia, the Korifassios promontory is developed, where the ruins of the classical city of Pylos were located. The beach is accessed by a dirt road that crosses the perimeter of the Gialova lagoon, by a dirt road from the village of Petrochori and by a path from Divari beach. As for the food, a word of caution is needed here. Precisely because Voidokilia beach is a Natura 2000 protected area, there is absolutely no structure to anything, so as to preserve as much of its natural beauty as possible. Therefore, you will come prepared with food, water, sunscreen, towels, mats and umbrellas and anything else you need. Clearly, you will need to remember to leave the space clean and tidy.

Romanos Beach

Or otherwise, Glyfadaki. It is located close to 15 kilometers from Pylos. Essentially, these are many small beaches that are connected to each other. The first is organized with a beach bar, while the rest are quite quieter so you can enjoy your swim in its wonderful, deep blue waters. Its fine sand and dunes at the back add to the wonderful scenery even more.

Ammolofi Beach

On the other side, on the beach of Romanos, you will see literally huge sand dunes emerge! A small beach, with fine sand and sand dunes, is the ideal choice of parents for their children as our little friends spend endless hours playing in the sand leaving the parents to enjoy swimming in the wonderful waters of the beach.

Petrochorio Beach

An enchanting beach with white little lilies growing in the sand. Can you imagine how idyllic the scenery is? Very close to the beach of Voidokoilia and fully organized, is the beach of Petrochorio where it really steals the impressions with its fine sand and its crystal clear, blue-green waters.

Divari Beach

Very close to Gialova you will find a 4 km long coast which is also protected by the Natura 2000 protection zone as it is where our beloved caretta-caretta turtles lay their eggs. It has a beautiful sandy beach and wonderful, shallow, blue-green waters, which makes it an ideal choice for families with children. Most of it is a free beach, however for those who wish towards the end, there is an organized part with a beach bar, sunbeds and umbrellas!

Sfaktiria Beach

The beach of Sfaktiria is located on the islet of Sfaktiria which can only be reached by boat from Pylos. Although you will need to get everything in advance, it is really worth diving into its wonderful waters. It has shallow, crystal clear waters and wonderful fine sand. The landscape is lush and mesmerizing and literally the greenery makes the whole view tropical!
